Lark Books Statement (ready for our gift econ)

Lark Books & Writing Studio and Elizabeth Treadwell as an author will #boycottawp until that organization does much, much, much more to address the structural inequalities in terms of economics, gender, and race which it at present rests upon and reinscribes.*
Lark Books will publish its first three single-author books in September 2015, its first anthology in January 2016, and will be the featured press at the grassroots, independently run (thank you David Kirschenbaum) Boog City Lit Festival in February 2016.
We would be very honored to publish more work by more women of color and more work by trans and nonbinary people in our first anthology, Manifesting the Female Epic. This is our list of contributors thus far. This is our original call for work. You may write to us at this email.
Lark will have another open reading period for single author works once these first four volumes are launched.

*[This is not intended to single out AWP as the only organization that does this, obviously. But AWP is a fulcrum of the problems. I am calling for huge changes, not tiny ones. Also, we can have a bookfair without a corporate or an academic structure.]
